“The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Psalms 34:17-18 NLT

David went through a time when he was on the run for his life from King Saul. At one point, he was in enemy territory and faked his own insanity as a way of protection against the enemy. It worked.
Psalm 34 is King David’s reflection on God's rescuing him in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Reflection & Encouragement
It was an honor to spend time with a friend and colleague, listening and praying together about some challenges going on in life at multiple levels.
By the time we finished together, it was clear that God had heard the cry for help, offered an unexpected opportunity that, if confirmed, would be exciting, and the Lord was near with comfort and encouragement.
It was just as David wrote:
- God hears when we call to him for help in a time of need.
- God rescues with provision, strength, and new opportunities.
- God draws near with presence, comfort, encouragement, guidance, and wisdom.
To be sure, some challenging times take longer than others for God to work his ways of faithfulness in our lives. The main thing is that God is and will always be faithful to us.
Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for responding to us when we ask for help.
Thank you for rescuing us in a time of need.
Thank you for drawing close and being with us.
You are incredible, and I praise you!
In your name, Jesus, we pray,
Amen
